The chairman of the House Armed Services air and land forces panel said he has no doubt that Congress will put 20 additional F-22 Raptors in the 2010 defense budget. Rep. Neil Abercrombie (D-Hawaii) told defense reporters June 18, 2009, in Washington, D.C., that adding at least 20 Raptors has strong bipartisan support. He note that his panel added only 12 Raptors to the House version of the defense bill because that all it could finance, but he said the entire Congress will find the money for 20 new fighters.
